🏊‍♀️ First Swim Lesson Prep Guide

Everything you need to feel confident and ready—no matter your age or experience level!


âś… What to Bring

Make sure you have these essentials with you for a successful first lesson:

  • Swimsuit – Choose something comfortable that stays in place.
  • Towel – One to dry off, and maybe a second to sit on poolside.
  • Goggles – Great for keeping water out of your eyes and building comfort underwater.
  • Swim Cap (optional) – Helps keep hair out of your face and protects it from chlorine.
  • Water Bottle – Stay hydrated, especially in warm pool environments.
  • Flip-Flops or Pool Shoes – Keeps your feet clean and avoids slipping.
  • Hair Tie or Clip – If you have long hair, bring something to tie it back.
  • Change of Clothes – Dry clothes for after your lesson.
  • Swim Diapers – Required for children who aren’t fully potty-trained.

  • Ready to Listen & Try – We’ll guide you every step of the way.
  • Willingness to Get Wet – Even if you don’t go under water yet, being splashed is part of the fun.

👨‍🏫 Before You Arrive

  • Arrive 5–10 minutes early to settle in and ask questions.
  • Make sure to eat a light snack about 30–60 minutes before your lesson.
  • Go to the bathroom before the lesson begins—especially for younger swimmers!
  • Let us know about any fears, concerns, or special needs—we’re here to support you!
